Fire Status

A 7,500-acre wildfire is burning in the area of Picayune Strand State Forest. Firefighters and safety crews from 16 agencies are battling the blaze that is now 80% contained.

All recreational facilities in Picayune Strand State Forest are curently closed due to the wildfire. 

Roadway Alerts

I-75 is NOW OPEN in both directions between mile marker 105 (Golden Gate Parkway exit) and mile marker 80 (State Road 29 exit).Collier Boulevard (951) is open.

Where there is fire, there is ultimately smoke, and smoke does not mix well with safe driving. Unforeseen changes in the wind and weather may create conditions where visibility on roadways is seriously impaired. Under these conditions drivers need to be cautious.

The Collier Emergency Information Hotline numbers are (239) 252-8444 or 311 (Collier County only) and will be open until further notice.
