Immokalee
Immokalee has seen its share of hunters, trappers, cowmen and missionaries since it was first settled in the late 1800s. Its name means “my home” in the Seminole language, a nod to one of two Indian tribes (the Calusa Indians first occupied the area) that occupied the area. As the largest inland community in Collier County, it has a thriving agriculture industry.
